High School No. 3

Westerplatte Heroes High School No. 3 in Gdańsk has existed since 1945 as a Polish state school. At present here are 625 students,  77 teachers and 20 administrative and service staff. The school provides comprehensive education at secondary level and prepares students for academic career both at home and abroad. Topolówka has been one of the pioneers of bilingual and international education in our region and country. Bilingual English classes were introduced in 1994. They gave way to IB school No.1309, which was opened in 2001  within the same building, and is an integral part of High School No.3. As the school had been long recognized for highest standards of education and decent research facilities, the affiliation was promptly admitted by International Baccalaureate Organization and accepted with all responsibilities by the City Council of Gdańsk. Bilingual Spanish section, which has been functioning since 2006, gives our students extensive knowlege of the language and culture of the Spanish world.
